Hayya is a free Islamic prayer app. There are no accounts, no ads, no trackers, and nothing to pay for. This policy explains exactly what leaves your device, and to whom.
We have no server and no database of our own, so we never see your data. Hayya has no user accounts, no advertising, and no usage analytics.
Everything the app saves — your preferences, prayer statistics, tasbih counts and your last known location — is stored only on your device. Two kinds of data do leave your phone, and only for the reasons set out below.
Hayya needs your location to calculate prayer times and the direction of the Qibla. It is used in two ways:
We send the least precise coordinate each service can work with. Prayer times stay exact to the minute, while the value that leaves your device is no more precise than the result requires.
You can refuse location access at any time and set your city manually instead.
Your preferences, statistics, tasbih counts and cached prayer times live on your device only. You can erase all of it at any time from Settings → Privacy → Clear All Data.
Hayya communicates with these services and no others.
Receiving your coordinates:
Receiving no location:
We do not sell, rent, trade or share your information with anyone.
If the app crashes, we receive a report so that we can fix it. A report contains the error itself and the technical state around it: your device model, its operating system version, and a random identifier for your installation of the app. It does not contain your name, your contacts, your location, or anything you have typed into the app.
Crash reports are on by default. You can turn them off at any time in Settings → Privacy → Crash Reports.
Hayya is suitable for all ages. It has no accounts, no advertising and no social features, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
If we update this policy, the changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
